Social media is once again buzzing with claims linking billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk and the cryptocurrency XRP but this time, the line between speculation and misinformation is blurrier than ever.

A tweet from X user “CryptoGeek” spread online, stirring up debate, when they claimed Musk briefly mentioned XRP looking promising but then deleted it just 20 seconds afterward. CryptoGeek added that Musk and Ripple are teaming up to offer global payments using XRP.

Elon Musk and Ripple Partnership Rumors Fuel XRP Hype

Musk’s Silence Fuels XRP Speculation Fire

Even though the rumor sparked excitement, no screenshots or evidence confirming the tweet appear to exist. Even the person who first made the claim, CryptoGeek, did not give any direct proof. Yet, the story made its way around the internet, with most of the attention coming from the XRP community (known as the XRP Army) who have frequently imagined a partnership between Musk and Ripple.

More false information and images led many people to believe the story, which even included a post using the name “Binance Suqure” to suggest that Musk and Garlinghouse of Ripple had come together. Many other posts claimed that XRP could go as high as $600 when the partnership became official.

Musk has not been connected to Ripple or XRP before in the past. Nonetheless, similar rumors have come up before, such as one very bold one stating that Musk planned to invest $104 billion in XRP to fuel payments on X (formerly Twitter) globally. The proposed plans failed to be put into action.

At present, there is no sign that either Elon Musk, Ripple or anyone from X is involved in XRP. Reports say that these rumors are intended to trick investors and push token prices higher than they should be.
